I've been driving the Volvo FM for a while now. The safety really stands out - I saw that Euro NCAP thing where it scored five stars, just felt good knowing I'm not the only one who thinks this truck is safer than most. You get great visibility all around, the mirrors and view from the cab are just solid. That active safety tech does its job, though sometimes it feels a bit sensitive - had some moments where it beeped at me for stuff I wouldn't have noticed. It's not perfect, but honestly it gives a bit of peace of mind in city traffic especially on tight corners. Can't say I notice anything crazy special regarding comfort or anything, the cab is decent enough for daily use, no complaints. Service is pretty standard for these, nothing too pricey but not dirt cheap either.

Price-wise, it's not the cheapest truck, but with all that safety I guess you pay for what you get. Haven't run into major issues with reliability yet.

Been driving the Volvo FM 450 Lite recently, and here’s my take. The chassis is significantly lighter, which is practical for maximizing payload. The I-Shift gearbox works smoothly, although sometimes it hesitates during heavy traffic. The cab comfort is remarkable, but I feel the suspension could handle vibrations a tad better. Overall, it’s solid for its intended use.

Been driving Volvo FM13 for years, so here’s my take. Mirrors first - some are aftermarket, not original. One front-side mirror was missing on the cab I used, that’s annoying. The two lower mirrors give a long view so you can see trailers and traffic behind, the top mirror is for the close stuff. Lane changes are workable, but tight spots need extra care. Rear setup handles heavy loads well, feels solid for heavy duty work. Bed/sleeping area is OK but a bit high, you feel more vibration at low speed. Oil looked thick on my truck, engine felt steady. Not perfect, but it keeps going.

I’ve had the chance to operate the 6x2 Volvo FM Globetrotter for some hauls. Really appreciate the reduced kerb weight. It’s a functional truck, with the engine power delivery staying consistent. However, found the interior design somewhat too basic compared to expectations. The braking system impresses, offering solid control.

I’ve spent considerable time in the newest Volvo FM, specifically experiencing its redesigned cabin. The increased space is a standout, allowing easy movement and plentiful storage. The added visibility from the large windows and well-placed mirrors is another plus. However, I found the touch functionality on the side display slightly unresponsive at times, which can distract. Overall, an ergonomic and well-thought-out design that's great for long hauls.

Drove the FM 460, and it’s comfortable and smooth. The gearbox transitions effortlessly, and visibility is good from the driver's perspective. While I appreciated its performance on the hills, the cabin might feel a tad compact for those needing extra living space. Definitely a solid choice for agricultural tasks.

I've covered a significant distance behind the wheel of the Volvo FM 420, and I can say the suspension system appears solid with minimal issues encountered. However, replacing the clutch at approximately 850,000 km felt like a slight letdown. Maintenance costs are reasonable given the quality aspects of the vehicle. All things considered, it's a durable model for long-haul operations.

Driving the Volvo FM has been an experience. I appreciate the focus on minimizing accidents and the implementation of innovative safety systems; it truly puts safety as a priority. That said, for some, the interior amenities might feel slightly basic compared to other models. Overall, it's a capable truck for safe and efficient transport.

Driving the Volvo FM 460 has been an overall good experience. The vehicle offers smooth handling, particularly when navigating through tight urban spaces. Its powerful engine ensures consistent performance even when heavily loaded. However, enhanced features in newer models might make me consider updates.

I’ve spent a good amount of time driving the Volvo FM 420. The fuel economy can vary depending on the model configurations-particularly the gearbox ratios and engine specs. I experienced better performance with the Euro 5 engine compared to the Euro 4 model, as it provided a more consistent fuel consumption level. Maintenance has been straightforward, though issues like rapid battery drainage due to system settings were a slight annoyance but manageable. The comfort level in the cab is satisfactory for long hauls, ensuring fatigue is kept at bay.
