Had my hands on the Scania G440 for a while now, and gotta say, not everything's smooth sailing. The biggest pain for me was the Opticruise gearbox. There were stretches of time where gear shifts made no sense, I’d get jerks and weird rev swings, especially when starting off loaded. Diagnosed that over a year before I finally cracked the culprit-it was the pressure sensor tube for the exhaust gases being clogged. The info just never reached the ECU, so it was always confused about when to shift. Once I cleaned that out and sorted a replacement, shifts got better, though now and then, the thing still acts up on low gears. I pretty much have to manage some shifts manually if I want to keep the revs sensible and avoid kicking the box. Reliability's been alright other than this drama, but I feel like these little issues show up more than I'd like. Cost of running isn’t killer, but service gets annoying when it's always some electrical or sensor headache. Truck's fine once you get past the gearbox, pretty comfy inside if you don't mind a work truck vibe. Not perfect, but gets me there.
